CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF ALPENA
NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARING ON BUDGET
The Charter Township of Alpena Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on the proposed Charter Township of Alpena general fund, Department of Public Works, and Public Safety Fund budgets for fiscal year 2019 at the Charter Township of Alpena offices located at 4385 US-23 North, Alpena, Michigan 49707, on Monday, March 25, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing. A copy of the budget is available for public inspection at the Township offices on business days between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The Charter Township of Alpena Board of Trustees shall also conduct a special meeting at that time and place for the following purposes: To establish salaries and compensation for the Township Supervisor, Township Clerk, Township Treasurer, and Township Trustees; to establish compensation for members of the Township Planning, Zoning, and Appeals Boards and Commissions and the Township Board of Review; to designate the depositories of Township funds; to schedule the date and time of the regular meetings of the Township Board of Trustees; to provide that all meetings of the Township Board of Trustees shall be conducted pursuant to Robert’s Rules of Order as interpreted and modified by the Chair upon advice of legal counsel; and to appoint legal counsel for the Township.
The Township Board of Trustees will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the meeting upon 5 days’ notice to the Township Board of Trustees.
